a superb, massive study of the historical Jesus issues. covers all relevant topics, historical study methods, past "questers", topical studies of Jesus according to the gospel writings and more. Dunn does a sparkling job of writing with just about as much objectivity as I've ever seen in any Jesus study book. His sane, realistic and honest handling of the issues is a breath of fresh air. Conservatives will have issues with his work, BUT so will liberals. It's not that Dunn is trying to steer a middle course, I don't even think he's interested in choosing one side or another, he just really seems to be striving to follow an honest inquiry into the historical Jesus issues study. one must take his work into account if one is to be educated on the issues of historical Jesus studies. this is a real beefy study that will fill one up.
