This study is not a study that provides answers to the questions that those outside the church have, it is a study that helps us to understand those that God longs to love through the church. I know a lot of people that were too afraid go through this because they didn't want there to be anything negative said about the church, or they felt like it was justifying certain un-Biblical perspectives. These ideas are FALSE! They Like Jesus but not the Church is an eye opening study that allows the Spirit of God to give understanding to those we want to reach with the Gospel. Our small group is made up of people from 24 yrs old to 74 yrs old. And all 15 loved it. Some in our group have been together for 8 yrs and we still look at this study as one of the best we've ever done.

The goal of this study is not to help you know what to believe, it is about knowing the people outside the church. We found that the Holy Spirit used it to soften our hearts and become more compassionate to people. We also discovered that we had some judgmental ideas that were not founded in the Bible or beneficial to God's Kingdom. As a result, we adjusted our lives to be more like Christ.

The background information and scripture studies in the back of the book were really helpful as we dug into each topic.

      2 pieces of advice:

1- Make sure to not let the group try to answer the views of those outside the church. That does not help in understanding those God died to save.

2- Consider taking 2 weeks for each session. We found the discussion was so engaging that we didn't have time. after the first lesson, we decided to intentionally break each session into 2 parts. It worked great and made it to where there was a video segment for each part of the lesson.
