The simple verses below each picture help promote reading readiness which is good. My five-year-old granddaughter loves to color the pages and review what the words say. She gets confused when deciding what color to make the hair & skin of the children on paper. A greater attempt should be made to insure that learning materials are recognizable as being multicultural. A great job was done on the cover. But, it was hard to decide on the actual coloring pages. So, we just wing it and mix it up ourselves. Tomorrow, I plan on buying some multicultural crayons to make it easier. She was taught in preschool that people came in flavors of ice cream ie, vanilla, caramel, strawberry & chocolate. I definitely think the new crayons will help.
