Jesus is ____. How would you finish thatsentence?
The subjectis there, and so is the verb, but what comes next? Your answer could shed lighton the path to becoming who you were made to be.
In thesepages, Judah Smith fills out that sentence again and again, each time furtherrevealing the character of Jesus. He writes as if to a friend, illustrating theimportance of Christs message to modern men and women. This is a book for newbelievers, for lifelong followers, and for the merely curious.Judah Smith shows us the Jesus that somber paintingsand hymns fail to capture. With passion, humor, and conviction, he shows thatJesus is life. Jesus is grace. Jesus is your friend. Jesus is a new and betterway to be human.

AR Reid1 Stars Out Of 5Wow, what a disapointmentJanuary 1, 2015AR ReidQuality: 4Value: 1Meets Expectations: 1My sister went to the City Church in Seattle Washington where Judah Smith took over as Senior Pastor after his father passed away a few years ago. Fortunately, for her sake, she no longer attends. And from the theologically reckless handling of the person and work of Jesus Christ within the pages of this book, I can see why her and her family chose to leave.
Judah was the youth pastor at the City Church for many years and his immature handling of the biblical text shows that he was ill prepared to take on the enormous responsibilities of his new position. In my opinion, Judah could have benefited from taking, at least, a couple of theology courses before stepping in as the Senior Pastor of such a large and influential congregation. His utter lack of understanding of the person and work of Jesus Christ is both embarrassing and dangerous. It is embarrassing because it throws open the door for intelligent non-Christians to mock this influential pastor's understanding of the Lord Jesus Christ (c.f., 2Sam 12:14). It is dangerous because Judah has such a persuasive platform from which to speak to the thousands of souls at the City Church who respect this young man and hang on his every word as if what they were hearing (or reading) was biblical truth. However, nothing could be further from the truth. This book is an absolute theological disaster.
I am aware that theology is out of vogue in our day and that those who are repulsed by anything theological will probably find my comments abrasive. However, as I see it, only a correct understanding of theology can cause someone who reads 'Jesus Is' to see it for what it is--just another easy way to make money off of biblically and theologically illiterate people. This book brings reproach upon the incalculable sacrifice of our heavenly Father in sending Jesus into this world to save his people from their sins. I agree with most of what the other one star reviewer wrote, except that I do not think he took his criticism of Judah's abysmal Christology far enough.

This book will change the way you see God. It will help you understand how much God really loves us, all of us, because he loves us all. This book totally eradicates all of the negative religious dogma attached to Christianity... Once you pick it up you won't want to stop reading it. If you are looking for a book about the Person of Jesus Christ that is easy to read, definitely pick this. If you really want to know who Jesus is, read this book. You won't regret it!
I did receive this book for free from BookSneeze.com in exchange for a fair review. I have received no compensation or pressure to give this book a positive review; I have done that on my own free will. I would give it three and a half stars out of five.
