I purchased this devotional 5 or 6 years ago and have given it to many friends who have enjoyed it tremendously. The encouragement I have received from this book is priceless. I have read the reviews finding fault with the content and can only say that we can sometimes "overthink" the intent and the content. It is written as though Jesus is speaking directly to us, but these thoughts were written by Sarah Young. I believe her intent was to lift the reader's spirit and to provide encouragement reminding us that we are not alone and that our Lord is with us as He promised us He would be. The devotional gives daily reminders that Jesus is aware of ALL of our difficulties and has helped me to be more patient with my circumstances and to remember that God is in control which takes the focus off of my meager efforts. Each daily devotional is accompanied by Scriptures pertinent to the thought for the day. I can only sum this up by saying that these readings have helped me to set a positive tone for each day and to put my focus on Jesus instead of my troubles. I highly recommend this devotional and will continue to enjoy reading it daily.

Test the spirits whether they are of God. Do not add to the word lest you be found to be a liar. That is what the Bible tells us. There are constant warnings in scripture about being discerning and taking heed and being watchful. This book is written in first person as if it is from God's mouth. That's adding to the word. Do your research, Sarah Young is channeling - just as New Agers take dictation from "unknown spirits". How quickly we forget the subtlety and cunning of the devil. These devotions are filled with New Age implications. Is there some truth? Of course. But a little leaven leavens the whole lump. Warren Smith was saved out of the New Age Movement and wrote a book entitled "Another Jesus Calling". Read that first and then decide if you want to fill your mind with this. This book's popularity just proves the lack of discernment even among professing Christians.
