This is an excellent daily devotional written in the first person which may or may not appeal to some folks. My wife and I both enjoy the first person aspect as it gives the sense that Jesus is speaking to us personally, which is exactly what He wants us to experience each day.

Frequently when reading a devotion for the day. I think of someone else who I believe would be inspired and encouraged by reading it also. Then I order it for them.

Jesus Calling is is the finest daily devotional I have ever read. Everyday prepares you for the challenges you may encounter, and reminds you that God is totally aware of what you are going through. Then He makes Himself available to lean on for comfort. One scripture reference is always relevant to the subject of the devotinal for the day, the other suggested references stretch your thoughts as to their relevance. The design of the book cover and sturdy binding make it a beautiful gift that will bless those who take the time to allow Jesus to call on them.
