After many years of writing her own words in her prayer journal, missionary Sarah Young decided to be more attentive to the Savior's voice and begin listening for what He was saying. So with pen in hand, she embarked on a journey that forever changed herand many others around the world.
In these powerful pages are the words and Scriptures Jesus lovingly laid on her heart. Words of reassurance, comfort, and hope. Words that have made her increasingly aware of His presence and allowed her to enjoy His peace.
Jesus is calling out to you in the same way. Maybe you share the authors need for a great sense of "God with you". Or perhaps Jesus seems distant without you knowing why. Or maybe you have wandered farther from Him that you ever imagined you would. Here is a years worth of daily readings from Youngs journals to bring you closer to Christ and move your time with Him from monologue to a dialogue.
Each day is written as if Jesus Himself were speaking to you. Because He is. Do you hear Him calling?
Sarah Young's devotional writing is helping millions in their quest for intimacy with Christ. She has been featured in the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, USA Today, and Christianity Today and has sold more than 14 million books world wide. Jesus Today received the ECPA Christian Book of the Year award for 2013. Sarah and her husband currently live in the United States.
HMarie5 Stars Out Of 5Jesus Calling (Large Print Deluxe Edition, Imitation Leather)April 23, 2015HMarieQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5Despite the devil's efforts to dissuade people from reading this book (via a book using the title of Sarah's book), God has gotten the glory time after time! Sarah Young was clearly anointed and hearing from God in her regular devotional time. I have read this book during my prayer and devotional time every day since 2009 when it was given to me as a gift from a wonderful woman and pastor's wife from Alaska. Each year, when I re-read the book, I got even more out of its messages and the accompanying scriptures. Each time the lesson was richer and the anointing more powerful. Not only has it blessed me spiritually since I began reading it, but she sent me a box of the hard back books to distribute to anyone I believed would read them. It has become a staple in my church for the women of God who want to grow in the Lord and its large print edition has begun to be very popular among the 'older set' who struggle like me to see when I misplace my glasses! I wish I could tell Sarah Young how much this has blessed so many of us and allowed God to use her as He used so many in the Word of God to speak to our spirits at just the right time in just the right season. I thank her for her obedience to God and I am grateful for how God has used it to help so very many.
MyrtleJT5 Stars Out Of 5Jesus CallingApril 20, 2015MyrtleJTQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5This is so well written by Sarah Young. It reminds me of the many personal conversational prayers I've had with my Lord Jesus. I recognize my Savior on every page as well as His peace which guards my heart and my mind in His Name. I pray prior to reading anything spiritual including my NKJ Bible that I may receive God's truth in His words and words of others be filtered for me if needed. NOT NEEDED IN THIS DEVOTIONAL BOOK. mag1 Stars Out Of 5Careful.... New Age!April 15, 2015magQuality: 1Value: 1Meets Expectations: 1(I agree completely with this copy of Sandra Plate's review, please read all the #1 reviews) "This popular book was written by the method of a Hindu practice called "channeling." The New Age practitioners have adopted this practice, too. And sadly, so has Sarah Young. In the introduction she states that the Bible was not enough for her so she sought out other sources and started this "listening" practice. She claims to have heard God speak to her and wrote down everything He said. People, if this is true, then we need to open the Scripture Canon and insert this book! She states it is not "inspired" like scripture, yet she states that it is direct communication from God: that's what inspired scripture is!
This book is not innocent and helpful -- it is very dangerous. Please stay away and tell all you can to stay away!
Leviticus 19:31, Deuteronomy 18:9-12, Leviticus 20:6 -- and remember 2 Corinthians 11:14!"
