Always a fan of Dee Henderson's books, I eagerly awaited my opportunity to learn more about the O'Malley's. A prequel to the O'Malley series, Jennifer was a heartwarming little novella giving some nice background to Jennifer's story. I liked the way the gospel was clearly presented, the way Tom was patient with Jennifer's exploration of faith, and the way **spoiler alert** Jennifer grapples with her diagnosis in light of the loving God she just met. **end spoiler**
Though maintaining Henderson's characteristically great writing, I wish Jennifer had been a full-length novel to go along with the others in the series. It was a charming love story, but didn't pack quite the punch the other books in the series did. Having said that, reading it did make me anxious to go back and reread the rest of the series.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from Bethany House with no expectation of a positive review.
The O'Malleys are back and your going to love them

The first book I ever read by Dee Henderson was a prequel to the O'Malley series and family called Danger in the Shadows. I loved it and have loved each O'Malley book since. So when I was asked to review book 1 in the love story series I knew I had to read it.
Jennifer will not disappoint all the O'Malley fans out there. This is great and fits perfectly in the series. Jennifer O'Malley is a pediatric doctor and too busy for a social life let alone a love life. However God always has other plans for us. Tom is the a nice doctor that works in the same hospital as Jennifer. Tom works ER and they are a great fit for each other. Just when all is going well there is grim news and its going to test not only Jennifer's faith, but her families and Toms as well.
Will all end well for Jennifer, Tom and the O'Malley family? Will this grim news make their faith stronger then ever? Will this tear them apart or bring them closer?
This is a great novella and great for all any Dee Henderson fan! Never read Dee Henderson or any of the O'Malley books, that's OK grab this book and you will become a fan.
Thank you Bethany House for allowing me to review this book!
Dee Henderson does not disappoint with her story of "Jennifer" in the O'Malley series. Having read all the other books in the series, I was excited to read this one too. I was captivated with her story from beginning to end. However, I was disappointed that the story was so short. At only 160 pages, the story had ended before it began.
I have read the entire O'Malley series and purchased this book about Jennifer because I wanted to know how she met Tom and how their early married life played out. I love this series and this book just added more to it. I would recommend this series to anyone and would tell them to be sure they read it from the Prequel to the last book.
