Hope Davis4 Stars Out Of 5Lovely book, highly recommendedSeptember 24, 2011Hope DavisQuality: 5Value: 4Meets Expectations: 4I remember reading the James Herriot books when I was young and this book brought back lovely memories of reading the series. It was wonderful to find this beautiful book which I could read to my 5 year old. She now loves the James Herriot stories as much as I did and can't wait to be able to read them for herself. Some of the language in the book is not what we would use, however it is used in the context of the time and culture, therefore I don't have a huge problem with it.
The stories are engaging and keep even young ones interested until the last word. I would recommend this book to anyone, it is an ideal read aloud for little ones and a great precurser to the All creatures Great and Small series.
