I love it, Jackie Evancho is amazing. She talks like her age, but she sings like an Angel, her voice is amazing, She was a star when she sang on Americas got talent. I love to hear her sing. my favorite Christmas CD was, Mario Lanza. 20 Christmas songs. Now I have 2 favorite Christmas CDs. Jackie is righr up there with Mario Lanza.
I liked this CD very much; it is one that I can just let play and I don't have to skip songs. Some people obviously will not like her heavy, Katherine Jenkins-style operatic sound; but I do, and it is a pleasure to listen to her. The accompaniment music quality is good - I would listen to the sample clips provided to form your own opinion, however. The music arrangement is fairly traditional, with some surprises here and there, and there is a nice variety of songs (though I wish that they had included 'Oh Holy Night'; it was on the other CD, but that one only has four songs on it).
At the risk of stating the obvious - music is very subjective, so if you don't really LOVE listening to opera/classical crossover, just know this: that is what you will be getting with this album. If you do love it, prepare for a ethereal musical experience from a child who was born to sing.
The young lady has a beautiful voice and it is a joy to listen to it when properly applied and the music well arranged. Her forte is not Christmas music and the musical arrangement does not help her at all. Listened to most of the songs (at least a little of them) and then trashed the CD.
