This book has a wealth of Information, even with the authors liberal position. He believes that most of the events that are said to take place in the first five books did not occur. He believes that the writers are writing to establish an Identity and a monothestic religion. But removed from his thoughts about history, there is a wealth of excellent information concerning the period of 2000 b.c.e and 1000 b.c.e. known as the period of the patriarcs. April 6, 2000
