Into the Forest Game (Forest Food Chain)
This product brings a lot of fun. We had this card game before when we were kids, but we lost it when we transferred. We're very glad to find it online thru ChristianBook! Thank you so much for bringing back good memories. Looking forward for more game cards...

Very educational, but...
I think this game is very educational, but it is really lacking in regard to the kid-friendly "cool" factor. I think it's super-interesting and well thought out...but a little dry, unless you have a child who really enjoys non-fiction reading and learning about science. Even then, kids are still kids, and enjoy engaging graphics, etc. This is more like an illustrated field guide-turned game. One other thing, the instructions are NOT very user friendly - it would definitely take an adult to help a child figure out how to play. For example, in one version of the game they assume that you know how to play Rook, and describe a variation of Rook using the Into the Forest cards - but if you don't know how to play Rook, you're lost. Just things to consider. Overall, it's still a really neat idea, especially if you have a child who is REALLY interested in nature, or if you're willing to take the time to make this game exciting for the child, by your own excitement and participation.
