When NAVPRESS sent me the book Intimacy Ignited: Conversations Couple to Couple., I never really anticipated it to land on my list of favorite books. But it did, for a bunch of reasons. The book has a heading right on its cover saying, Fire up your sex life with the Song of Solomon, so you could say I had high expectations for this book and it sure did not fall short. Intimacy Ignited used Gods Word to drive it and not just a supplement to the authors thoughts and insights. It is said in Psalm 18:30 that the Word of God is flawless. Something we stand by through and through. And the Bible sure did not leave the marriage life for couples boring. In fact, it ought to be the opposite, as reinforced right from the pages of Bible no less. Which simply put - God is for great sex life in marriage!

Intimacy Ignited contains a verse-by-verse study of Song of Solomon. The object of the book is to help couples learn from the Scripture how to apply what is within to their relationship. Another interesting feature is that at the end of each chapter there is a short prayer the couple or person reading the book can say.Once finished with the book there is a section in the back that will take the couple on a thirty day Bible study if they desire a deeper understanding of how they can grow in there relationship with Christ and one another. Overall it keeps with the Biblical text while accurately portraying how one should live with a servant's heart.I found the book to be a very easy read. It was not too difficult to understand and it presented the Song of Solomon in a godly manner and with respect to the cultural context itself. I felt it effectively was able to show how in Christ couples should act toward one another. In so far as that it is a book for couples, I would not suggest it for those who are young or not yet to be engaged. Though I would love to see a book as such as Intimacy Ignited for those who have yet to be married.Disclosure of Material Connection: I received this book free from Navpress as part of their Blogger Review Program book review bloggers program. I was not required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.

This book was a God send to me as a woman and also to my relationship. This is a book that I can feel comfortable displaying on my bookshelf and having others see it in my collection.

This is a must-read for all couples, whether their newlyweds or married for decades. The Dillow and Pintus couples did a fantastic job in writing a book that is reverent to Scripture, exciting, and humurous. Read this with your spouse!
