Product Description

C.H. Spurgeon, who is known to be theologically robust about the verbal inspiration, infallibility, perspicuity and preservation of the text of the Bible, made many forthright statements about Darwinism and his sermons and writings are liberally sprinkled with references to the subject. In this 'virtual' interview, David Harding takes us through his general thoughts on the matter, on science and the Bible, and then his more specific attitudes to science. There is advice to young people and then comments for preachers. What of those who disagree? He had a few words for them too! The appendix explores Spurgeon's attitude to his own fallibility and is relevant in view of his opinions and judgments about when the world was made.
A remarkable format for learning about Spurgeon's views on the subject, otherwise only to be found by searching through his extensive writings.

    Matthew S.
I enjoyed the script of this book. I believe it was a fair representation of Spurgeon. The print is excellent and well as the binding. The lettering is a good size so it makes for easy reading. For those who are not afraid of hearing a defense for creationism this book is for you. The fact remains that dust sitting beside dust without the intervention of God will never make itself into a person. I can see that creatures do adapt to their situations and that survival of the fittest and death of the weak can mold the traits of species so that they can comfortably live in their surroundings having what they need to eat, live, and reproduce. But when it comes down to the facts it becomes obvious that God is the creator, we are the creation, and molecules left to their own devices will never create a living breathing being given eons or not.Buy this book; it's a fun read.
