Kohlenberger III (MA, Western Seminary) is the author or coeditor of more than three dozen biblical reference books and study Bibles, including The Strongest Strong's Exhaustive Concordance of the Bible, NIV Interlinear Hebrew-English Old Testament, NRSV Concordance Unabridged, Greek-English Concordance to the New Testament, Hebrew-English Concordance to the Old Testament, and the award-winning NIV Exhaustive Concordance and Expositor's Bible Commentary: Abridged Edition. He has taught at Multnomah Bible College and Western Seminary in Portland, Oregon.

The Interlinear NIV Hebrew-English Old Testament, One-Volume Edition 3.5 5 4 4

Hebrew It is a nice book, not one to be carried around. The print is small, makes it hard to see the vowels under the letters. I wish the numbering for the versus was darker, they blend in which makes it hard to follow the teacher while they read or ask you where is this in certain verse ect. For studying good bible.. Pretty good (could be better), but way too big I'll start with the good - the introduction is helpful, and this version has a very nice, yet compact and simple Hebrew alphabet chart. Having the NIV in the margin is also nice (but I'd like to see the publisher make other Bible versions in the margin available, as they did in their New Testament interlinear Bibles). I also like the way the English under the Hebrew text appears. I would, however, have preferred that they just make all of the English words readable from right to left, to match the Hebrew, rather than putting the English words left to right for each Hebrew word (whenever multiple English words are used to translate a single Hebrew word), and then putting the left-to-right English phrases in order from right-to-left. Some kind of numbering system for reference (such as Strong's numbering) could be helpful too. What bothers me most, though, is this book is ridiculously big - maybe that's why it's kind of pricy. I have two interlinear Bibles, which both have the Old Testament and the New Testament, and yet this version, which is only the Old Testament, is about as thick as my two other interlinears stacked on top of each other. In fact, this is one of the thickest books I've ever seen! Why does it have to be so thick? If you buy this Old Testament interlinear, along with this publisher's New Testament interlinear (which is also thick, though thankfully not as thick as this edition), you'd almost need a wagon to lug them around! Overall, it's a good publication, but they really need to consider producing a much more compact edition. January 18, 2011

excellent work. the hebrew letters are big.There is room for enterning your own strong's number.The niv is a good freeflowing translating.This is great for those who want to study the hebrew and learn the text.The other advantage is the Name YAHWEH appears in the text giving it a more honest reading.The two improvements would be to have in the form of Torah, Prophets, and Writings and the hebrew for the names of the books.aside from these,this is one of the best text to learn to study and to read hebrew. This is by far the best Hebrew-English Interlinear on the market. The Hebrew text is very clear and the NIV on the side is excellent. It has limited notes and the English translation follows the NIV more then a direct translation of the Hebrew. My only recommendations would be to allow for a more direct word translation in the Interlinear since the NIV is on the side column anyway and we always need more notes on Hebrew text. Nevertheless, this is the best I've seen. July 9, 2005
