I love the good advice in this little book and the rural pictures. I've given this book as a gift and I have also used the thoughts in my greeting cards.

The Amish being a deeply religious people, I expected more scripture quotes. While many of the little snippets that fill this book are uplifting or thought provoking, only a handful are actually Scripture quotations.

Also, this book has no organization or cohesiveness. Each two-page spread is a random picture on one side and a couple of nice but unrelated random one-liners on the other. I found this lack of focus disruptive and annoying. This book might be better enjoyed if you looked at all the pictures as one action and read all the verbiage as a separate action, but that wouldn't occur to many people up front, especially since that's not the way this book is laid out. Worse still is that the pictures are repeated. So instead of trying to make some connection between the picture and its opposite verbiage (and as noted there usually isn't one), you're further distracted by the nagging thought of having already seen that picture. The quality of the pictures is nice enough, but surely there are plenty of Amish-related pictures available not to duplicate them in the same book.

Overall, this book misses the mark. While I would give this book four stars for the quality of the pictures and the uplifting (albeit not scriptural) nature of the verbiage, it gets only one star for it's lack of focus, and a big ZERO for duplicating pictures and cheating the reader out of as many pictures as it would appear this book contains. I wouldn't recommend this book.

I placed this book on my coffee table so everyone who visits our home can pick it up and read it. I love the pictures as well as the inspiring thoughts.

This booklet was a little more subdued, color brightness-wise, than I was expecting. But the farming scenes were nostalgic and genuinely classic. Some photos were repeated. The "sayings" were mellow in a sweet Christian way, highlighting the simple life and Amish country wisdom. I gave it as a small gift, and the receiver liked it.

I want to thank Wanda Brunstetter for sending this beautiful book of wonderful sayings and Bible verses. The pictures are grousous in beautiful color. This book is great for an everyday pick me up, when you need a little something from the word of God to keep you going.

It also would make a wonderful gift for Christmas or any occasion. Not expensive just the right way to say Friend I am thinking of you today
