The first section covering about half of the book deals with the proponents of Islamic jihad. Using anecdotes, news coverage, statistics, quotations, and their own websites and books, Rosenberg takes us inside the jihadist movement. He also interviews people involved in the fight against terrorism. He discusses the history, leaders, and theology of the radicals. He explains how insufficient the response and the understanding of the West have been. Some people will find this section scary and depressing, but it is only part of the story he presents.

Next, Rosenberg describes the secular movements in the Middle East that are promoting Jeffersonian democracy. He interviews movers and shakers who are working to promote freedom: Hamid Karzai, the grandson of Ayatollah Khomeini, Nouri Al-Maliki, Jalal Talabani, and an assistant to King Mohammed VI of Morocco. He describes changes that these men are introducing in their countries and their fights against radicals.

The final two sections set the book apart from others on jihad and the Middle East. These two sections are hard to put down, because they offer perspective one does not find in the general media. Rosenberg also includes a recommended resource list, an appendix of twenty terrorist plots that were foiled since the Twin Towers attack, copious endnotes, and an index.

Rosenberg is a Jewish Christian who is also a New York Times bestselling author of both fiction and nonfiction. His analysis and insight are refreshing; his outlook encouraging. Known best for his fiction centered in the Middle East and based in Christian end times beliefs, Rosenberg’s nonfiction behemoth will be a bestseller among evangelicals. Rigorous research, travel and interviews with hundreds of Muslim, Jewish and Christian leaders lends credibility to this survey of the spectrum of beliefs that drive foreign policy in nations such as Iran, on which the book focuses. Rosenberg divides Muslims into three types. Radical Islamists will stop at nothing short of dominating the world or destroying those who believe otherwise. Reformers believe radical Muslims have hijacked peaceful Islam for their own power-hungry and violent ends. Revivalists are Muslims or those living in predominantly Muslim countries who believe Islam is not the answer but that Jesus is the way. Rosenberg challenges Islamic eschatology without adequately comparing parallel Christian views. On the other hand, he is one of a few evangelicals who will put quotes from the Qur’an in context, has traveled widely and inter-viewed global leaders. I haven't gotten very far yet but what I have read is very very informative. This book is a must read to understand what is happening now and what is going to happen in the future if this country doesn't wake up. A book for those who care beyond today.

Absolutely fascinating and eye opening book. Don't rely on the media to provide in depth information as Joel does. A must read for those who want to understand the Islamic threat.

Joel Rosenberg's book should be a must read for our President and every member of Congress...especially those he refers to in the book (mainly democrats) who have done so much to undermine our nation, it's credibility and it's relationships with the Muslim and Arab worlds. Events today are proceeding on an accelerated pace to fulfill the remaining end-times prophecies so clearly layed out in the Bible. Despite critical concerns about the future our nation and the world face as Joel Rosenberg makes so clear snd easy to understand...it is indeed a great comfort to know that without a doubt...GOD IS STILL IN CONTROL.

Normally, when I hear news stories from the Middle East and the names get more than four syllables, my eyes start to glaze over. I heard Rosenberg speak on a Christian radio station and his message sounded distinctively clear, so I decided to by his book. Rosenberg gets down to the radial Muslim mentality behind the terrorists' actions, and it is downright scary. He pieces together all the different players and their links to the various terrorist organizations. The depth of their evil is astounding. I am only on chapter 10, and I feel the urge to move to a bomb shelter in Montana.

Comprehensive yet easy to understand presentation of the world wide situation facing us. Ignorance of the radical muslim situation will not keep it from advancing. Inside the Revolution should be required reading for everyone.
