This book was to be a gift to one of my nephews for Christmas. When it arrived in the mail, I determined to give it to myself.

Oxford is one of my favorite places on earth. As I read about the Inklings and walked with them to their favorite "talking" places around Oxford and out to Headington, I felt that I was transported back to my favorite place.

The book is beautifully illustrated with pictures and captions that are lifted from the actual text of the book.

A must "have" for those of us who enjoy the masterpieces by the Inklings, and for those of us who have benefited from their wisdom.

This is an excellent book for what it is intended to be. It is not a detailed history or biography of the people involved, but a pictorial history of their relationship to one another and where they lived and worked. Beautiful pictures - wonderful commentary. I highly recommend this book for your coffee table or bookshelf.
