In this little book, Pastor Sartelle briefly but cogently presents the biblical basis for the baptism of infant children of believers. He shows how this practice is rooted in an understanding that God's covenant of grace--which spans the testaments--entails God's special regard for the households of believing parents. Even if they are not persuaded, readers may at least learn how paedobaptists stand on Scriptural footing (and not mere tradition) in applying the New Covenant initiatory sign of baptism to their children.

I gave this book one star simply because it is a book. As far as the book itself, it is very short and concise. The problem with the book is that it is completely unbiblical. Nowhere in this book does Sartelle even remotely give a Biblical defense for infant baptism. As a matter of fact, the only thing that he does well is pull Scripture out of context to try and prove a point that is not found in Scripture. If you are looking for a book on the defense of infant baptism, or the Biblical grounds for infant baptism, I would look somewhere else, and save my money.

For a short concise explanation as well as a defense of infant baptism with heart, this is the best I have read so far. John Sartelle has done a service to the church by giving us a simple to read, easy to understand treatise from a pastoral perspective without being over simplistic.
