Tell us a little about yourself. I love Jesus with all of my heart and have a heart for His people. I've been walking with the Lord for over 30 years, and enjoy intense time of encountering God through His Word and Spirit.
What was your motivation behind this project? This book came as a fruit of many years of time with God in His Word, and seeing that Word manifested through prayers and life experiences. The Lord brought me through tremendous healing and freedom emotionally through the power of His Word. My goal through this book is to bring people into encounters with the Living God through their time in the Scriptures. It is also to be a part of an awakening of the church. We've drifted so far from the radical joy, freedom and lifestyle of a New Testament believer, and I believe that God has much more for us as a body. He wants healing and restoration in the church.
What do you hope folks will gain from this project? God's Word is truly alive! It is where we actually meet with Him, and learn to hear His voice! I pray that people may have a new passion for intimacy with Jesus through this book. I would love to hear how it has fueled their personal Bible study and prayer times. I want people to know that God is so real in our everyday lives and desires to encounter us and answer our prayers. I believe that God will bring an awakening to His church and transform entire congregations with His living Word in ways we've not seen in many years. My desire is that this book would be one of the many tools God uses in this hour to help resore the foundations of His house!
How were you personally impacted by working on this project? I was actually really excited about this book because it was like I was taking years of relationship with the Lord, and releasing it into a book. The things in this book took me years to learn, and it was straight out of God's Word. It is like a roadmap that led me to freedom and intimacy with the Lord. As I was walking through my own transitions during the writing and production of this book, just working on it would remind me of who the Lord is. It was actually very encouraging to me as it would remind me again how faithful He is.
Who are your influences, sources of inspiration or favorite authors / artists? I would say that I have been truly inspired by an older generation of saints such as Smith Wigglesworth, John G. Lake, John Wesley, John Wimber, Andrew Murray,Jeanne Guyon, Kathryn Kuhlman, Kenneth Hagin. It seems that a previous generation of saints whose biographies I have read seemed to have a depth of relationship with God that is seldom seen in the days we live in now. I've grown tremendously through their writings, gleaning from their lifestyles. I love the combination of their emphasis of godly character as well as the power and encounter with God. Some of my favorite authors are Bill Johnson, Mike Bickle, Lester Sumrall, Charles Stanley, David Jeremiah, Joyce Meyer. I love Jesus Culture and Vineyard Music as well.
Anything else you'd like readers / listeners to know: I do thank you for your interest in "In the Arms of a Real God". I pray that God uses it tremendously to breathe new life into your personal relationship with God as well as a revolution of Christianity in our culture today.
