I WAS LOOKING A BOOK TO BE GIVEN AS A GIFT AT MY RECENT WOMEN'S WEEKEND. THIS BOOK WAS PERFECT. IT LINED UP WITH SOME OUR CLASSES AS WELL AS IT SPOKE DIRECTLY INTO LIVES OF SOME OF THE PARTICIPANTS. THE AUTHOR DID A WONDERFUL JOB COMPARING HER WORK AS A DOLL SCULPTOR TO THAT OF THE POTTER IN THE BIBLE. I ESPECIALLY LIKED THE REFLECTIONS EACH CHAPTER OFFERED. NOW THAT THE WEEKEND IS OVER, I WILL BE USING THE BOOK (THEMES) FOR A CONFERENCE THAT I WILL BE A FACILITATOR. THE BOOK IS A MUST READ FOR ALL CHRISTIANS...BUT ESPECIALLY WOMEN. LASTLY, THE WOMEN AT THE WEEKEND LOVED RECEIVING THE BOOK AS A GIFT. MANY ARE IN THE PROCESS OF READING IT NOW.

Being a ceramist myself, I have often seen the parallels between this craft and the Christian life. The book follows the steps in producing a piece in clay and compares them with God's work in our lives. It is easily read but profound in its pictures of the refining process as we grow to what the Lord has for us. I highly recommend it.

There are no words to describe how this little book ministered to me! :) The metaphor of the potter and clay literally came to life for me. I knew a few minimal things about pottery, but this book went into more depth just exactly WHY God told Jeremiah to "go down to the potter's house..." I've already bought one for a friend...and may buy more. If you want to experience God's actual working with and in us throughout our lives, buy this little book! You won't regret it! Thank you, Wendy!
