Emerson B. Powery, Professor of Biblical Studies at Messiah College, was a contributor to the Wesley Study Bible and co-authored Invitation to the New Testament (a short-term DISCIPLE Bible study). He wrote Jesus Reads Scripture (Brill, 2003) and was one of the lead editors for True to Our Native Land: An African American New Testament Commentary (Fortress, 2007). Powery received a Master of Divinitydegree from Princeton Theological Seminary and a Ph.D. in New Testament and Christian
Jack A. Keller, Jr. served as project editor for the critically-acclaimed and best-selling New Interpreter's Bible commentary series.
