Tell us a little about yourself.  Thank you for your interest in, "I Spy a Tiger!" I pray that it brings many hours of reading fellowship in laughter and wonder between you and your children. I am a graphic designer and the illustrator of this book. I am also a backpacker and have been so blessed to have been able to minister to young boys in the scouting ministry to equip them to be Christian servants for the Lord. It is so awesome to bloom in the light of His grace and love for His glory and not to hide that which He has gifted in the sand. As we are to rejoice in our labors for the Lord, this opportunity to share this joy with you in this book, “I Spy a Tiger,” smacks of childlike giddiness – it is my first published Christian children’s book!

What was your motivation behind this project?  The abyss of “disconnection” between parents and their children is widening as the world churns out its darkness to capture and ravage the hearts of our young and innocent. As parents we cannot rely on these times, but must go to the Word and call on the Holy Spirit to equip us to actively prepare and till the fields of our children to receive the true person of Christ, unveiled and real, into their blossoming hearts. Young parents can take the early lead in setting strong family foundations by nurturing aptitudes towards academic learning and spiritual worship through daily devotional times, readings and interactions with their children in the midst of the Word and with a tiny age appropriate book such as, “I Spy a Tiger.”

What do you hope folks will gain from this project?  Brought before the throne in spirit and in honor of the privilege of training up with the Lord's character and love, our little ones can bear forth natural fruit in worship and praise to our Lord with glad and humble hearts. My wife Anne spent countless of hours reading to our two boys, and that can only rise as eternal treasures in heaven.

How were you personally impacted by working on this project?  Originally this book was first brought forth early in our marriage, actually as a secular book. It was a most beautiful time of innocence and sparkling wonder as Anne and I worked together on this project, with two young boys underfoot, endeavoring to secure a publisher in the days prior to the worldwide web. As you have predicted, life inevitably grows. Mounts up in heaps of amazing photo albums and adventures, as our family took the many paths the Lord led us on, and with that, "I Spy a Tiger," took to the deep "jungle" under our bed. Now, with the Lord's perfect timing "I Spy a Tiger," has emerged out from under the bed and into the light of His Will. . . I pray that this book goes forth for His eternal purposes.

Who are your influences, sources of inspiration or favorite authors / artists?  The few years I have trekked with the Lord, combined with the many years, as I have come to realize, of Him drawing me slowly to Himself has been nothing but that of learning His ever abundant grace, love and mercy. A trek yet be completed by Him, and in His time . . . So I continue on His trail in expectancy that the He will do great and mighty things. This surety of His promises to complete what He has begun in me, leads me to say of this often heard statement, "I am bored," that it is such an incomprehensible folly I cannot fathom it. To grab a few words from the end of the book, "Truly, our God has blessed us with so much for us to see and explore. Go on... have a look... it’s right out your door!"

Anything else you'd like readers / listeners to know:  As mentioned earlier, life grows. These days before us are critical times. Times where the person of Jesus Christ is being veiled behind emerging humanistic/mystical doctrines and where our teen and young adults are being wooed towards a growing lust to meander in the course of this world! My two sons are now in this age group, and my current work in progress, I pray will shed light upon these dark satanic compromises in a way that they see Christ in His person relationally, the finished work He has done for them, the outreach He can do through them, and come to a solid understanding that ALL things are under Him presently, into the age to come and into eternity. Our Lord has begun a work in you and your children, your family. Let Him inspire and take you on a trek of His own! I hope in a little way, this little mustard seed of a book has helped edify, inspire and strengthen your family. God Bless
