"What a great read! I took I, Saul to the beach planning to enjoy it over our two-week family vacation. But the book only lasted a few days! I couldn't put it down! It is an inspirational, insightful, page-turning thriller! I have read many of Jerry Jenkins' books, but this one is his best! My applause!" - Anne Graham Lotz, Author of Wounded by God's People
"A master storyteller, Jerry Jenkins has taken up the greatest conversion story of all time-the Apostle Paul's. In I, Saul, we see the biblical outline faithfully followed with detail that grips the heart afresh about what a life totally dedicated to Jesus Christ looks like. May this compelling story stir fresh devotion among Christ followers everywhere." - Jack Graham Pastor, Prestonwood Baptist Church, Dallas
"A stirring fiction founded upon the facts of scripture. Jerry Jenkins brings to life one of history's greatest men: the Apostle Paul, whose life inspires us to stand and suffer for our Savior, Jesus Christ." - Mark Driscoll, Founder and Preaching Pastor, Mars Hill Church, Seattle
"Whenever a skilled author is able to make a key biblical character come alive, I get interested. And I, Saul more than measures up. Jerry Jenkins has excelled in creating a compelling story that remains true to the character and personality of the most important figure in the early church. Everything I like about a great novel is here: danger, political intrigue, and cultural detail. If you enjoy mystery and history, I, Saul is a must read!" - Joni Eareckson Tada, Joni and Friends International Disability Center
"I, Saul has everything a great thriller needs: page-turning action, intrigue and mounting suspense, plot twists that really work and, above all, characters worth caring about. The chapter-to-chapter shift from present day to the first century is both clever and effective. The best part? Spending time with Saul of Tarsus. A brilliant concept and a great read." - Liz Curtis Higgs New York Times best-selling author of Mine Is the Night
"I, Saul combines the historical with the contemporary, and the outcome is compulsive reading. Vintage Jerry Jenkins!" - Chris Fabry, Novelist and host of Chris Fabry Live!
"If Jerry Jenkins would be but one thing (which he assuredly is not), it would be a story teller. He is worth reading for this alone, but he also manages purpose without preaching. I, Saul is plausible fiction, astute reflection, and a flat-out good read." - Wallace Alcorn, Ph.D., Biblical scholar and author
"Jerry Jenkins has compressed his vast talents as a biblical researcher, biographer, mystery writer, and thrill master in I, Saul. Hang on, friends-it's all in one breathless package!" - Dr. Dennis E. Hensley, Author of Jesus in the 9 to 5, Director of the Professional Writing Program, Taylor University
"I, Saul is one of the finest books I have ever read. I not only believe it is a good book; I believe it is an important book. I laughed. I cried. And, yes, I found myself wanting to learn even more of the life of the Apostle Paul. In the end, I don't think Jerry could ask any more of a reader." - Jim Pryor. westofthemind.blogspot.com

"Jerry Jenkins has once again used his keen imagination and spiritual insight to blend reality with fantasy without compromising the biblical story. I, Saul captures the spirit of a man who has impacted great segments of humanity for nearly 2,000 years! I'm looking forward with great anticipation to the sequel, I, Paul." - Dr. Gene A. Getz, Professor, Pastor, Author
"As a writer and sportscaster I have a read thousands of books over the course of my career. I just finished reading Jerry B. Jenkins' latest masterpiece I, Saul, and it was one of the best novels I have ever read. Jerry is a mastermind of intrigue, mystery and historical facts. This was one of the books I could not put down, and just like his Left Behind series, it had me on the edge of my seat. I, Saul once again affirms my opinion that Jerry B. Jenkins is the greatest author of my generation. If you only read one book this year I strongly recommend I, Saul. I am excited for the sequel I, Paul. - Paul R. Condry, President, Regional Radio Sports Network, Publisher of the Indiana Football Digest
"It was one of the most interesting books that I've read. It keeps you in suspense. My favorite parts were those of Paul and his writings, how he loved the Lord, and how intimate he was with his belief in his Savior. I thought I knew Paul, but those pages brought to life the man who wrote so much of the New Testament. I don't have the words to express the insight and the depth of the words that Jerry B. Jenkins penned on those pages." - Tom Davidson Pastor, Christ the King Community Church Blackhawk, CO
"I personally enjoyed I, Saul, Jerry B. Jenkins' new book more than anything I¹ve read in a long time. It's a book full of mystery, action and romance, an utterly gripping novel and a vivid reminder of how God chooses unlikely men and women to accomplish His noble purposes. A great book!" - Bill Armstrong, President, Colorado Christian University, Former Colorado United States Senator
"When master word-weaver Jerry Jenkins joins forces with Bible exposition extraordinaire James MacDonald, you'd better make way for something powerful! In I, Saul Jerry and James give us a unique perspective into the character of the apostle Paul, using biblical facts as the basis for a work that is sure to please any fiction connoisseur. My prayer is that this book will give readers deeper insight into the life and teachings of the apostle, and more importantly, the One who commissioned him (and all of us) to share His Good News with the world." - Greg Laurie, Pastor, Harvest Ministries
"I, Saul is a must read book! God is shaking the foundations of the world right now, and at the heart of what He is doing is the power of His Word. Jerry Jenkins, the master story-teller, has written a powerful story that reveals the background and upbringing of the unique, passionate man who once relentlessly persecuted Jesus' followers-and who later God used to write much of the New Testament. A modern story of ancient texts, hidden memoirs, and political intrigue surrounds the discovery of a parchment possibly written by the Apostle Paul. Jerry skillfully takes us back to the first century story of Paul, while drawing us into a present day international thriller. These two parallel stories are brilliant and will leave you wanting more! I can' wait for the next one." - Ray Bentley, Senior Pastor, Maranatha Chapel, San Diego

Awesome telling of two stories in one book. Go deep in the life of Saul turned Paul, so deep you are down in a dark prison with him as he relates his life story to the physician, Luke. The manuscript is hidden away and meets up in the present story with characters who have good and evil intent as they are in possession or trying to be in possession of the manuscript. Exciting storyline and believable characters will keep you fully engaged to see the final outcome.
AliciaNew York, NYAge: Under 18Gender: female4 Stars Out Of 5Present and Past!November 13, 2013AliciaNew York, NYAge: Under 18Gender: femaleI, Saul is a story that goes back in forth from present day Rome to Bible character Paul's prison. Right before Paul's execution he yearns to receive his parchments to finish his first account of his early life. Even on the throes of death Paul with Luke's help defy the Romans to do the Lord's will. Finding Paul's account proves to be the greatest find in present day times, and leads to unimaginable adventure and danger. The double stories provided a very unique aspect to the story.
The extensive research included in this story is clearly evident, so much so it felt that you were walking along the roads of Damascus and Jerusalem. Even the modern day culture in Rome felt quite authentic. My only regret is that there is no actual thing as Paul's parchments. The fictional account of his childhood helped to make Bible reading more alive and personal.
Tim Lahaye and James Mcdonald did a wonderful job creating a historical, contemporary, adventure, and Christ-centered story. I can't wait to continue my journey with the next installment to this series, I, Paul.

MossyLouisville, KYAge: Under 18Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5Three stories in one!October 30, 2013MossyLouisville, KYAge: Under 18Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5I debated whether to give this book four or five stars. I ended up giving it five stars, but it should be 4.5. It was a good book but not one of my absolute favorites.
Reading I, Saul is almost like reading three stories at once. It sounds confusing, but it all fits together clearly.
I liked the main characters and the plot. This story contains almost everything you could want in a book: suspense, adventure, history, and even a little romance.
I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys Christian fiction.
sunny island breezesa sunny island5 Stars Out Of 5October 27, 2013sunny island breezesa sunny islandQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5A riveting story is brought to life in I, Saul. The present day story running along side the first century story of the apostle Paul adds even more depth.
This morning I read again the book of 2 Timothy, but with new eyes when Paul requests Timothy to get Mark and come to him soon. I had never really thought about Paul knowing his time to be beheaded was near.
How many of us actually see the urgency with which Paul request the parchments be brought to him.
The present day story also is focused on the urgency of the parchments. There's a cloak and dagger adventure here involving lots of intrigue. Of course, there's romance, as well.
I, Saul grabbed me, but left me wanting the rest of the story. I'm definitely ready to read I, Paul now. I really don't want to wait until 2014. Just maybe it will come out in January. Please make you pen fly, Mr. Jenkins. Don't make us wait until next October.
