This was an adorable children's book containing nine lessons about the following virtues: humility, love, thoughtfulness, faithfulness, mercy, encouragement, comfort, courage and joy. The characters of each lesson bring this 192 page book to life. Characters include: Humble Honeybee, Babo Bear, Caroline Cat and many others. I like how the author introduced the nine characters at the beginning of the book by including their pictures along with the lesson that each of them learn. Each chapter contains about 20 pages and about half of those pages are pictures of the characters.

I thought this was a really cute book and enjoyed the scriptures at the end of each chapter. I think this would be a good teaching tool for children. The stories are very short which would be good for younger children. I also think they would enjoy the colorful pictures. This is definitely a book I would recommend to others.

This fun book has 9 different stories that teach young ones important virtues that most parents want their kids to learn and emulate as they grow. Each of these virtues: humility, love, thoughtfulness, faithfulness, mercy, encouragement, comfort, courage and joy; are important for children to learn from a young age. Humble Heart by Amy Meyer Allen teaches these virtues in a fun to read, and exciting way that youngsters will enjoy listening to over and over again.

In my family, we try to focus on these and other virtues everyday. Teaching my children from birth to have a humble heart, positive attitude, submission to God, parents and teachers, as well as many other Christian values is an important part of their spiritual and emotional health. I love how author Amy Meyer Allen has taken these key issues and made them into a book that is fun and easy to read and understand.

What an adorable way to teach young ones about virtues and scripture! With amazing illustrations, fun and fanciful stories, and delightful characters, Humble Heart is a book that many parents would love to have on their child's bookshelf! Each individual story starts with the definition of the virtue the story is about, then finishes with an application page with questions to help the child/reader think of how to apply the virtue in their life, as well as a scripture verse associated with that story's virtue.

I definitely recommend this book for children ages 0 to 8. My girls are 5 and 8 and both really enjoyed this book. My son is almost 12 and though he feels the book is too young for him, he doesn't mind reading it to his youngest sibling when asked.

What an adorable book about Christian virtues. The author, Amy Meyer Allen, begins with a message to the adults who will be sharing this book giving a brief explanation of how the book grew out of the "depths of my soul."

It is a story of various whimsically and beautifully illustrated animal characters and the struggles they have due to their own flawed character. Yet, as they focus upon God's character, they see their own flaws changing more and more to be like Jesus Christ in thoughts, words, and actions.

The stories focus on humility, love thoughtfulness, faithfulness, mercy, encouragement, comfort, courage, and joy. I found the story a delight to read and was encouraged by the many scripture passages woven throughout its pages. I recommend this book for any young child to enjoy having read to him or by using early reading skills to enjoy reading for himself. (rev. J.LaTour)

Meet Humble Honeybee and his virtue friends in this wonderful children's book of virtues. The pictures are bright, bold and colorful; the cover is hardback with a soft cushion front cover. The characters will help reinforce those character traits that you are longing to instill in your child. Each virtue is defined and then the story will go into detail showing how the virtue is carried out or experienced in the characters life. At the end of each character trait there is a page that asks the reader if they have ever experienced a time when they put to use this virtue. Good way to get your child to talk and reinforce the virtue. There is also a scripture verse that corresponds with the virtue as well. The character lessons are very simple that a two or three year old would benefit from this book. 7-8 year old might be a little bored with it. Your young children will fall in love with the animal characters.

‘Humble Bumbles' Humble Heart a Book of Virtues' by Amy Meyer Allen is a collection of nine stories that teach children about the Biblical virtues of; humility, love, thoughtfulness, faithfulness, mercy, encouragement, comfort, courage and joy. The stories are bright and simple and the illustrations follow suit. They are understandable and relatable for young children. They are also charming and enduring for older children to enjoy and learn from as well. There is a definition of each term at the beginning of each story and an applicable scripture verse at the end. My children loved going through this book of virtues with me. We read one a night during our devotion time. There are fun features too that many children books have. Humble honey bee can be found on each page and there is a highlighted item from the illustration on the opposite page of text like a hat or a flower which can then also be found in the illustration. They loved playing this game as we went through the stories. This is definitely a book we will read time and time again.
