Christianbook.com now offers all of its downloads in DRM-free MP3 format. MP3 files are currently the most compatible format, perfect for most operating systems (Windows, Mac, Linux) and media players (Windows Media Player, iTunes, etc.)

MP3 files are not licensed so there aren't any restrictions on the amount of times the file can be burned to a CD or transferred to a portable device or music player.

Do I have to install the Christianbook.com Downloader to access my purchases?

Yes. The Christianbook.com Downloader is needed to download MP3s from our site. If you purchase downloads from us and the Christianbook.com Downloader is not installed on your computer, you will be prompted with our Installation Instructions when you initially enter the Download Center to access your downloads. Simply follow our 3-step installation and you'll be able to download your purchases.

 

How do I access the downloads I have purchased?

Click My Account in the upper right-hand corner of any page or in the left navigation bar.

Type your email address and password and click Enter.

Under My Downloads, click on Access Your Downloadable Purchases. You will then be redirected to our Download Center.

If this is your first time downloading, you may need to install the Christianbook.com Downloader. To do this, simply click on the yellow "Install Downloader" tab listed at the top of our Download Center and follow the instructions provided.

The Active Purchases tab lists any downloads that you have purchased, but not yet transferred to your computer. You will see the track names listed with a green arrow located to their right. Click on the arrow to begin the download process. You will then be prompted to select a location to which your download will be saved. You only get one download per track ordered. You have seven days to move active purchases to your computer before they expire.

13.2 Are Christianbook.com downloads legal?

All downloads that you purchase from Christianbook.com are legal, provided that you adhere to our Terms and Conditions. All of our downloads have been licensed for sale to the general public for personal use. However, due to license restrictions, downloads may only be purchased from a computer located within the United States.

Our downloads are DRM-free MP3 files. Christianbook.com downloads are safe, legal and easy to use.

13.3 What are the requirements for purchasing downloads at Christianbook.com?

  • You must set up a Christianbook.com account, so you have a user name and password. These are required to access our download center.

  • You must be purchasing and downloading the content from a location within the 50 United States. 


  • System requirements are Windows Media Player 9 and Explorer 5.5 or later. Click here to download Windows Media Player, and click here for Explorer. For help setting up Windows Media Player, visit Microsoft's support page. 

  • Your computer must be running Windows operating system 98se, 2000, Millennium Edition, or XP. We recommend a system with a 233 MHz or higher processor, at least 64 MB of RAM, a sound card, and speakers or headphones.

13.4 How do I access the downloads I have purchased?

  • Click My Account in the upper right-hand corner of any page or in the left navigation bar.
  • Type your email address and password and click Enter.
  • Under My Downloads, click on Access Your Downloadable Purchases. The window will appear as a pop-up, so you will need to turn off any pop-up blocker you have running on your computer.
  • Type your email address and password again to get to the Downloads Center.
  • The Active Purchases tab lists any downloads that you have purchased, but not yet transferred to your computer. You will see the track names, sizes in kilobytes, run time, how many downloads and expiration. You only get one download per track ordered. You have seven days to move active purchases to your PC before they expire.

13.5 How long does it take to download something to my computer?

Although it is not necessary, we do recommend that you use a high speed Internet connection. An average song (4-6 MB) takes less than a minute to download using a broadband connection (T1, DSL, ISDN, or cable modem). Downloading an average song using a 56 Kbps modem can take about 15 or 20 minutes.

  • The Past Purchases tab shows your download history.

13.8 Can I play Christianbook.com downloads on my iPod or MP3 player?

Yes. MP3 files are compatible with both iTunes and Windows Media Player, and therefore will play on an iPod, MP3 player, and most other portable music devices.

13.9 How can I back up my downloads?

 

Purchasers of software and downloaded files typically make backup copies of important files for the time when they experience system crashes, hard disk failures, or replace their computers. For more information, please contact your back-up software publisher or Microsoft.  If you have Windows Media Player installed, an excellent place to begin would be the Help option within Windows Media Player, as well as the following Microsoft site:

We highly recommend that you back up your downloads so they can be recovered in case of a system crash or hard drive failure. Christianbook.com is under no obligation to restore data or information that has been lost or has become unrecoverable.

13.10 Can I burn my downloads onto a CD?

Transferring the files from the computer to an audio CD (A process known as "burning") can be done through Windows Media Player.  Please refer to Windows Media Player's help or Microsoft's Windows Media Player site for more information on the process.

Please note: Christianbook.com cannot provide technical support or assistance for burning content onto CDs with Windows Media Player or any other program.

13.11 I don’t live in the United States. Can I purchase downloads from Christianbook.com?

Unfortunately, due to license agreements, you must be purchasing and downloading content from a location within the 50 United States. Christianbook.com downloads are not available to people living at military addresses, commonwealths, protectorates, or possessions of the United States.

13.12 Can I send a download as a gift to someone?

Unfortunately, you cannot send a download as a gift. However, you can purchase a Christianbook.com Gift Certificate, which the recipient can use to purchase downloads and other products from Christianbook.com.
