2.1 How does Christianbook.com choose its products?

Christianbook.com prides itself on offering customers the very best in Christian products at the best prices. We carefully select products that we think will interest our customers, and then negotiate for low prices. Because we buy in bulk, we generally work with large publishers of Christian products to provide our product base.  However, we have been known to work with smaller publishers or authors if they have products of interest to our customers.  If you have a product that you would like us to review, please send it care of J.B. 2.2  How many products do you carry?

Christianbook.com is the largest retailer of Christian products on the World Wide Web.  We carry well over 100,000 products, all of which can be accessed quickly and easily via our powerful server with our flexible search and browse function.

2.3  I have a product; can I get it listed with Christianbook.com?

Because we buy in bulk, we generally work with large publishers of Christian products to provide our product base.  However, we have been known to work with smaller publishers or authors if they have products that will interest our customers.  Independent products (that is, items being marketed by either the author or a small publisher) may be sent to Christian Book Distributors for review, but because of the large number of inquiries that we receive, we are unable to personally respond to requests or return samples. If you have a product, manuscript, or book for us to review, please address it to J.B. Stallings, CBD Buying Department, P.O. Box 6000, Peabody, MA 01961-6000.  If we are interested in putting your product on our Web site or in one of our catalogs, we will contact you directly. 2.4  How can I get additional information about a product?

At Christianbook.com we are working hard to give our customers as much information as possible about each and every product we carry.  For most items we have managed to provide some basic information along with an image and description of the product.  However, with such a huge selection of Christian products, there are a few items that are missing some of this information.  We realize that lack of information makes it difficult for our customers to make purchasing decisions, so we are working hard to beef up our database.  We have been adding hundreds of reviews, excerpts, and tables of contents to the Web site each week.  If there is a product you'd like to learn more about, feel free to contact our Product Assistance Department for any additional information.

2.5  Why are your prices so low?  Are your products first quality?

Let us assure you that all of the products we offer in our catalog are "first quality" -- they are neither used nor damaged.  This is true for all of our products, with the exception of a rare "special deal" on a "slightly bruised" item (please note that in these instances the nature of the damage is clearly stated on the product information page).  To offer such low prices, we purchase our products in large quantities, allowing us to take full advantage of the quantity discounts offered by our vendors.  In turn, we are able to offer lower prices to our customers. We also purchase many closeout and remainder products, and offer them at an even greater discount to you.  So don't be concerned about the quality of your selection.  At Christianbook.com, low prices and quality merchandise go hand in hand.

2.6  Do you do "price-matching"?

At Christianbook.com, we work very hard to offer our customers the best selection of Christian products at the very best prices.  We accomplish this by purchasing our products in bulk and then passing on the savings to our customers.  To help keep our costs low, we cannot offer any sort of "price-matching."  However, we're confident you'll discover that we have the best prices and selection of Christian products available anywhere on the World Wide Web.

2.7  Why do you carry books by THAT author?

When discussing Christianbook.com's product selection, it might be useful for you to understand our philosophy of product selection. Because we attract and service a wide range of customers (from pastors to homemakers, and seminary students to parents) whose interests and theological tastes vary enormously, we sometimes carry products that contradict each other. It is this kind of diversity in selection that has become a trademark of our company. We don't want to become a theological or social "censor" of the books we carry, but we also try to remain selective. So we tend to carry the most popular Christian titles unless there is a compelling reason not to. 2.8  Do you carry audiobooks?

Yes, we carry an excellent selection of Christian audiobooks for a variety of audiences.  You can browse through them on our specialty page devoted to books on tape.

2.9  How do I know whether or not the products I want are available?

At Christianbook.com, we always take care to let our customers know the status and availability of the titles on their orders.  For products that are currently in stock in our warehouse, the words "In Stock" will appear on the product's detail page.  Furthermore, when customers finalize an order at Christianbook.com, they will receive confirmation of availability.  In the event that a title is backordered at the time the order is placed, the system will provide an approximate date when it will be available to ship. In that case we will not bill your credit card until the product has arrived in our warehouse and has been shipped out to you.
