7.1 Is it safe to order online from Christianbook.com using my credit card?

Independent studies have shown that using a credit card online over a secure server is safer than ordering by phone or fax.  At Christianbook.com, we offer a secure server with top encryption for the safety and convenience of our customers. Using the secure server, you can rest assured that your ordering information, including credit card number and expiration date, will remain encrypted, and therefore out of the hands of hackers and thieves.

7.2 What payment options are available?

Payment on orders can be made using Visa, Mastercard or Discover Card. For those folks who prefer to pay by check, you may order online using an "electronic check" which works via your regular checking account. However, we understand that some people are still uneasy with new types of transactions. With that in mind, customers can still place orders by phone, mail, or fax, and we'll process those orders just as quickly as we process online orders.  To place an order by phone, simply call our toll free number 800-CHRISTIAN (800-247-4784) anytime between 8 a.m. and 11 p.m. (E.S.T.), Monday through Saturday and talk with one of our helpful customer service representatives. International callers, please call (978) 977-5000. Christian Book Distributors also offers a 24-hour, touch-tone ordering system at (978) 977-5080.  To use our touch-tone system, customers need to have a current catalog with a valid customer and catalog number.  We accept fax orders at (978) 977-5010.  To pay using a paper  check or money order, send your completed order form and payment to CBD, P.O. Box 7000, Peabody, MA 01961-7000.

7.3 Can I be billed?  Do you do C.O.D.?

Due to our low prices, we are unable to process any "collect on delivery" transactions.  If you would prefer to pay by check or money order, feel free to use a downloadable order form and mail it along with your payment to CBD, P.O. Box 7000, Peabody, MA 01961-7000.

7.4 When will my credit card be charged for my order?

When you place an order at Christianbook.com, we will not charge your credit card for items until they are shipped. Most products will be shipped and billed to your card within 24-48 hours of the time we receive your order. After you submit an order to Christianbook.com, you will receive an automatically generated e-mail from our main computer system to confirm that the order has been received.  You will then receive a follow-up e-mail to confirm that the order was shipped and charged to your credit card. Occasionally some of our products may be out of stock at the time of your order. If there are backorders on your order, we won't charge your credit card until they have been shipped.  We will inform you by e-mail when your card has been charged.

7.5 Will you charge me immediately if I place an order for something that's backordered?

Occasionally some of our products may be out of stock at the time of your order, and we apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you.  However, in the event that you have backordered items included in your order, we won't charge your credit card until they are actually sent to you.

7.6 Do you offer additional discounts to churches or businesses?

Aside from case quantities and price breaks on certain items (for example, Gift and Award Bibles, greeting cards, and Bible study guides), Christianbook.com does not generally offer further discounts to organizations, churches, or businesses.

7.7 Can I use a gift certificate to pay for my online order?

Absolutely! Whether it's paper or electronic, Christianbook.com and CBD gift certificates are redeemable for any order placed online. Gift certificates can also be combined with other forms of payment if your order amount exceeds the dollar amount of the gift certificate. To redeem a gift certificate someone has given you, follow the usual procedure for ordering. When you arrive at the "Payment Information" during checkout, follow the simple instructions for a gift certificate.
