5.1  Why should I set up a Personal Profile at Christianbook.com?

There is no faster way to order from Christianbook.com than by using a Personal Profile.  By storing all of your ordering information on our server, you'll be able to order from our huge selection of Christian products over and over again without re-entering your mailing address, billing address, name, and credit card number.  When using a Personal Profile, it takes only a few clicks for our great products to be on their way to you!

5.2  How do I create a Personal Profile?

To create a Personal Profile at Christianbook.com, you simply need to visit the Personal Profile area and fill out the corresponding form.  When you are finished, click the "Register" button at the bottom of the page and Christianbook.com will automatically create a Personal Profile for you.  Once you have entered a profile, a personal greeting will appear at the top of Christianbook.com's home page each time you return to the site to let you know that you have been recognized by the system.

5.3  Is the information in my Personal Profile safe and protected?

Yes. You can rest assured that with the use of secure connections and encryption, any information you enter on our server is safe from hackers and thieves.  At Christianbook.com we have a Privacy Policy to assure you that any information given to us stays with us.  At Christianbook.com we respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal information.

5.4  How can I alter my Personal Profile once it's created?

If you have already established a personal profile, it is easy to change your name and address online.  Simply go to the Personal Profile area and enter your e-mail address and password. Your previously entered Personal Profile information will appear in the form below, and you may alter any of it or delete it entirely.

5.5  What if I forget my password?

If our server is not accepting the password you have entered, first check to see if you have changed your e-mail address since you entered your Personal Profile.  You may have the right password, but it might be listed with different e-mail information.  Try entering your old e-mail address, and then update your Personal Profile to include your latest e-mail address.  However, if you are still unable to remember your password, we will be happy to locate it for you and send it to you.  Please send password requests to the webmaster.

5.6  I set up a Personal Profile, but the server didn't recognize me when I returned.  Was my profile deleted?

Once you have created a Personal Profile, our server should recognize you whenever you return to the site.  This is accomplished by placing a "cookie" in your computer's memory.  However, there are a few reasons why our system might be unable to read the "cookie" on your computer: first, if you have recently installed new Internet software; second, if you are accessing our site from a computer other than your own; third, if your Internet or system software is set up to "eat cookies" (eliminate them).  None of these instances indicate that your personal profile has disappeared from our server---only that our server cannot recognize your computer.   If you have new Internet software or are accessing our site from another computer, you'll need to go to the Personal Profile area and log in.  If you have "cookie eating" software but still want to be recognized by our system, you will need to set your software options to accept "cookies" (refer to your software manual for instructions to do this).  If problems persist, please e-mail us for additional assistance.
