The names of God: the Almighty - February 23

Therefore listen to me, you men of understanding. It is impossible for God to do wrong, and for the Almighty to act unjustly. For He repays a person according to his deeds, and He brings his ways on him. Indeed, it is true that God does not act wickedly and the Almighty does not pervert justice....

The Almighty—we cannot reach Him—He is exalted in power!

In His justice and righteousness, He will not oppress.

Therefore, men fear Him. He does not look favorably on any who are wise in heart.

— JOB 34:10-12; 37:23-24

The one who lives under the protection of the Most High dwells in the shadow of the Almighty.

I will say to the LORD, "My refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust."

— PSALM 91:1-2

I am the Alpha and the Omega," says the Lord God, "the One who is, who was, and who is coming, the Almighty"

— REVELATION 1:8

GOD uses the alphabet to better describe another of His many qualities—"I am the A and the Z." God is reminding everyone that He is the beginning (A) and the end (Z).

In Other Words

God was around before the earth, before the stars, before vuur grandparents, before the invention of TV and WAY before you (that's the A). God is also the end of everything that's the Z), which means you are somewhere in the middle of His big plan—maybe around the letter K—nobody knows.

The only thing known is His promise to return. When that happens, you'll need to know more than just the alphabet. You'll need to know Jesus as your Savior Are you ready for His return?
