" But I pray to you, O Lord, in the time of your favor; . . .Rescue me from the mire. " - (Psalm 69:13–14)

People, look at me and marvel at how well I’m doing. Sure, I have it all together. I’ve taken care of the immediate details and arrangements. I am re-arranging my living. For some people I might be termed “cool.” But deep down, I feel like I’m sinking in mire. This is an old descriptive word for deep mud or slush. Many times, as I try to be strong in my bereaved state, the mire of sadness and loneliness threatens to pull me down and under. It gets tougher and tougher to keep lifting my feet to pull out of it. The Lord reminds me when I pray to him that he has the solution. He has the perfect heavenly davit to keep me out of the mire. In the time of his favor, which means he is very near, he is ready to reach out and rescue me. Thank you, Lord. Prayer focus for today: Unforgiving people.
