"MAY 17 "
And if ye call on the Father, who without respect of persons judgeth according to every man's work, pass the time of your sojourning here in fear. - 1 PETER 1:17 KJV
The world thinks in the present tense. Christians tend to think in the future tense, with a good understanding of the past. Like anyone else, they want to be successful, but they know God's will for their lives is more important. They are willing to give up a lot to lead righteous lives, knowing their rewards may be far in the future. They praise God for all His blessings in good times and in bad. Christians start with God and work down to themselves. Anyone who thinks in such a totally different way is bound to be a stranger here, not quite at home in this world. A far better world awaits Christians, the place can truly call home. Living as strangers is not easy, but it's the only way that makes any sense.
Lord, thank You for the salvation that is mine for the asking. If it causes me to feel like a stranger here, remind me that my home is with You.
