"MAY 7"

Don't get involved in foolish, ignorant arguments that only start fights. - 2 TIMOTHY 2:23 NLT

While growing up, you'll have lots of debates about politics and religion. And that's okay. When you're young, you need to explore your ideas. But one of the first things you'll learn, usually the hard way, is to never argue about politics or religion.
For as we age, our ideas often turn to concrete. This happens to all people; they have a set of core beliefs they want left alone, thank you very much. You mess with it at your peril.
This doesn't mean you shouldn't witness. You have every right to express your beliefs and try to help others, but you have to be aware of the danger of getting too close.
The conversation will either die or become strident. The friendly banter, the give-and-take, will be over. Even if you haven't quite finished making all your points, it's time to back off, because you've gone past "conversation" and are nearing foolish, ignorant arguments."

Father, help me navigate my way through the subjects of politics and religion. Teach me to avoid arguments that can have no good ending for anyone and respect the belief’s of others. Even when I think they are wrong.
