He was only a shepherd boy. What could he do against the mighty giant Goliath who bellowed out insults against his God? It seemed like madness for David to fight him. But fight he did. And one stone hurled from his sling brought him victory. David's life after Goliath was a succession of greater victories that saw him ascend all the way to the kingship of Israel. But he's known for more than his military brilliance; David was also an accomplished musician and poet who wrote many of the Psalms in the Bible. He was a man after God's own heart.
Measuring 12 inches high, David doll is fully articulated, with 18 points of articulation including hands and fingers that can grasp and hold. He also has realistic eyes, hand-sewn cloth outfits and sandals, a slingshot accessory, and 75 seconds of Scripture, recorded in an easy-to-memorize style. The verses are taken from the New International Version and are:
- Psalm 23:1: The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not be in want.
- Psalm 23:2: He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters.
- Psalm 23:3: He restores my soul. He guides me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
- Psalm 23:4: Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.
- Psalm 23:5a: You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies.
- Psalm 23:5b: You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows
