Terri Blackstock

Several years ago, Terri Blackstock had an epiphany that would drastically change her career. She had written 32 secular romance novels with over 3.5 million copies in print, yet Terri was miserable because she had compromised her beliefs in her writing. One night, Terri decided she would never again write something that was displeasing to God, although she thought she might never publish another novel. She began planning for alternate ways to earn a living while writing her first Christian novel, styling it after books she enjoyed reading—suspense by authors such as John Grisham and Mary Higgins Clark. Christian publishers expressed a great deal of interest—Terri would not have to find a way to supplement her income.

Since then, Terri has written nearly 20 books. She is the author of the Suncoast Chronicles, Newpointe 911, and the new Cape Refuge mystery series, the Seasons series written with Beverly LaHaye, Emerald Windows, Seaside (a novella), Covenant Child (part of the Women of Faith fiction line), The Gifted, and The Heart Reader, as well as a few short stories which have been published in anthologies. Terri also reworked some of her secular romances and turned them into the 2nd Chances series. Her upcoming book is Line of Duty, a fifth installment in the Newpointe 911 series.

Of The Heart Reader, Terri says, “Three years ago, while in a church service, the Lord gave me this idea, fully developed. "What if you could hear what God hears in the hearts of His hurting people?" As quickly as He gave me the idea, He told me very clearly, "I want you to write this story, but I don't want you to profit from it." She wrote the book quickly and it was published anonymously (with the proceeds going to charity), partly because Terri wanted the focus to be on the message of the book, not who wrote it. The book has since been republished with Terri’s name on the cover in hopes that the message will get out to more people.
