Emilie Griffin received a B.A. in English and Classics from the Newcomb College of Tulane University. She also pursued graduate studies in theology at Notre Dame Seminary.
A writer, editor, and marketing consultant, Emilie has won fifty awards for creativity. Over the course of her career, she has worked for major advertising agencies in New York as well as New Orleans, and studied playwriting with Edward Albee at the Circle in the Square Theatre in New York. She recently collaborated with Richard Foster on a book entitled
Spiritual Classics. She is a board member of Renovaré, an infra-church movement committed to Christian renewal.
Emilie has written several books on spiritual life including
Turning (about conversion),
Clinging (about prayer),
Chasing the Kingdom: A Parable of Faith,
The Reflective Executive,
Homeward Voyage: Reflections of Life Changes, and
Wilderness Time: The Experience of Retreat. She has recently completed a history of a women’s religious community entitled
These Sisters are My Friends.
Emilie and her husband, William live in Alexandria, Louisiana, and are the parents of three grown children.
