Meet Michael Warden

Michael D. Warden was born the son of a southern preacher in the piney woods of East Texas, and spent the bulk of his early years hopping around the state before finally making his way north to Colorado in 1989, where he now resides contentedly in the shadow of the Rocky Mountains. He is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin with a degree in Journalism, and worked for several years both as a minister and managing editor of books for a publishing house in Colorado before becoming a full-time writer in the mid 1990ís. To date, he has published five books and contributed to more than 150 other books and magazines.

Most recently, Michael completed work on his first full-length novel, Gideonís Dawn, an epic fantasy-suspense adventure that is the first of a trilogy of books called ďThe Pearlsong Refounding.Ē Gideonís Dawn hit the shelves in March 2003. The next book in the series will be Waymaker.

Michaelís other books include Alone With God: Biblical Inspiration for the Unmarried, a daily Christian devotional guide for singles published by Barbour Publishing and Get Real: Making Core Christian Beliefs Relevant to Teenagers, the landmark youth ministry book that challenges youth leaders to build a strong biblical foundation in the next generation. Co-authored with Mike and Amy Nappa. He has written several Bible study resources including Stand Your Ground, a study of 1 Peter; What's Your Point?, a creative approach to the book of Colossians; Why Be Normal?, a study of the Sermon on the Mount; and Small Group Body Builders, which contains dozens of practical activities you can do with small groups of teenagers.

When heís not creating on the computer, he enjoys taking extended travel adventures, and has spent considerable time exploring the backroads and tiny villages in places like Costa Rica, Peru, Honduras, Mexico, as well as the European nations of Slovakia and the Czech Republic. His outdoor interests including windsurfing, sailing, scuba diving, backpacking and biking. When indoors, he enjoys cooking, reading and playing guitar.
