Meet Linda Hall

Linda Hall enjoys a life filled with words and mystery—of the fictional sort, that is. A member of the Crime Writers of Canada and the Writers Federation of New Brunswick, she is the author of nine novels, mostly mysteries, and seven nonfiction books. She has also worked as a freelance writer, news reporter, and feature writer for a daily newspaper in British Columbia. Her articles and short stories have appeared in many periodicals, including Today’s Christian Woman, Focus on the Family, Brio, Breakaway, Teen Power, and Junior Trails. Her short story “White Christmas Pansies” was awarded Best Christian Short Story in Canada for 2002 by The Word Guild.

From an early age, Linda was a lover of stories. So much did she love the whimsical way words entertained, she filled every day and night with them. As a child, when she walked home from school, she made up stories in her mind. She also read voraciously far into each night. Linda grew up in a pastor’s home in New Jersey and attended Moody Bible Institute in Chicago. There she earned a diploma in communications/writing and met her husband, Rik. When Linda graduated in 1971, she and Rik moved to Canada. Except for a short stint as missionaries in Taiwan, the Halls have lived in Canada ever since.

To this day Linda reads a novel per week. And she creates entertaining literature of her own: by eight every morning, she is at her computer. When not writing, Linda runs, lifts weights, and she and her husband sail the east coast in their twenty-eight-foot sailboat.
