Meet Dr. Walt Larimore
Walter L. Larimore, M.D. is an award-winning medical journalist, best-selling author, family physician, and educator. He was the host of the television show, Ask the Family Doctor on America’s Health Network and later Fox’s Health network. He has appeared on NBC's "The Today Show;" "CBS Good Morning;" "CNN Headline News;" CNN's "Anderson Cooper 360," CNBC's "The Abrams Report;" PBS' "Family Works;" and several Fox News shows and has been interview for a plethora of newspapers: including the Wall Street Journal, New York Times, Boston Globe, Boston Herald, Chicago Tribune and many more. In 2001, Walt became the host of Focus on the Family’s Health, a nationally syndicated 90-second daily news feature on the radio and TV.
Dr. Larimore has also written or co-written many books which have been finalist for the Gold Medallion Book Award. These titles include Bryson City Secrets, The Highly Healthy Child, and Going Public with Your Faith: Becoming a Spiritual Influence at Work. Also, Walt’s book, 10 Essentials of Highly Healthy People, was given the Retailers Choice Award for health and fitness.
Walt was a rural family physician for over twenty years, delivering more than 1,500 babies, before taking his position at Focus on the Family in 2001. In 2004, he became a full-time author, medical journalist and educator.
He and his wife, Barb, have been married more than thirty years and have two grown children.
