Meet Sharon Ewell Foster
Sharon Ewell Foster was born in Texas and raised in Illinois. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in radio-TV-film from the University of Maryland. Sharon has more than fifteen years of professional and administrative experience with the U.S. Department of Defense, Navy, and Army as an instructor, writer/editor, logistician, resource information analyst, and contract administrator.
Her previous work includes a daily wire news column and several devotionals in Daily Guideposts 2000. Sharon is the author of Passing by Samaria, her first novel, which debuted as a bestseller and sold 50,000 copies in its first six months. It was also named on of Library Journalís top ten Christian fiction works of the year.
Sharon has written three more novels since Samaria. The first in a two book series,Riding Through Shadows follows the story of Shirley, an 8-year-old girl growing up in the post-Vietnam South. Ain't No River combines wisdom, modern issues, and humor with a splash of African-American history in this story of Garvin Daniels who rushes back to help her Meemaw get out of trouble. Her latest book Passing into Light continues the story of Shirley Ferris, now a single mother who must make peace with her past.
The mother of a grown daughter, a teenage son, and a Chihuahua named Punkin, Sharon makes her home in the Baltimore area.
