Meet Dr. Reginald Cherry
Dr. Reginald Cherry was born in Fort Smith, Arkansas. He did his pre-med studies at Baylor University in Waco, Texas from 1966 to 1969. From 1969 to 1973 he attended The University of Texas Medical School at San Antonio and after graduation, did his post-graduate training in Internal Medicine and Radiology at Methodist Hospital in Dallas, Texas.
After completion of this post-graduate training, Dr. Cherry joined Dr. Kenneth Cooper at the Aerobics Center/Cooper Clinic in Dallas, Texas practicing preventive medicine. During the same period of time, he worked at the Institute for Aerobics Research in Dallas as a Research Associate studying the effects of exercise and nutrition on the prevention of disease. Dr. Cherry then moved to Houston in 1975 and opened his own clinic for the practice of diagnostic and preventive medicine.
The R. B. Cherry Clinic for Preventive Medicine is an extensive diagnostic facility specializing not only in the diagnosis of disease, but also in the use of nutrition and exercise prescription to alter disease risk. This is a Christian clinic and Dr. Cherry believes in praying for the sick as God directs. He has written several books dealing with the relationship between prayer and physical health including The Doctor and The Word, The Bible Cure, Healing Prayer, the God's Pathway to Healing series.
A member of the American Medical Association, Texas Medical Association, Harris County Medical Society, and American College of Preventive Medicine, he is currently serving as consultant to numerous corporations and was an assistant professor in Clinical Medicine at The University of Texas Medical School at Houston, Texas. Dr. Cherry has authored numerous articles on Preventive Medicine emphasizing nutrition and exercise. He also speaks extensively, nationwide, on these topics and conducts numerous seminars for various groups and organizations and currently has a weekly television program that reaches 80 million homes.
In addition to these duties, Dr. Cherry is president of Community Educational Television and Jacksonville Educators Broadcasting which own and operate a total of six TBN-affiliated Christian television stations in Texas and Florida.
