Meet Robin Jones Gunn
Robin Jones Gunn is a popular Christian author, particularly for her novels for youth. Her first grade teacher once wrote, “Robin keeps the entire class entertained at rug time with her stories.” But it wasn’t until she married Ross Gunn, a local pastor, that she began writing. He urged her to attend a writers’ conference, after which her writing career began.
In the years following the writers’ conference , she began waking up at 3 AM only to write for a few hours before her children awoke. She wrote stories geared for teens that later became the Christy Miller, Sierra Jensen, and College Years series. Her first book was published in 1988 and she has continued to write between two and five books each year. Over the years, she has published sixty-three books, forty-seven of which are novels and all of which are still in print. Robin Jones Gunn has authored countless other books and articles as well, including non-fiction titles like Mothering by Heart, popular children’s storybooks, the Glenbrooke series, comprised of six Palisades romances she had written as well as three additional titles--Woodlands, Wildflowers, and Tea at Glenbrooke.
Sisterchick [n.]: a friend who shares the deepest wonders of your heart, loves you like a sister, and provides a reality check when you're being a brat. Such is the premise of Robin's new series, Sisterchicks, about the zany adventures of middle-aged women.
Robin has received awards such as the Christy Award, the Evangelical Press Association Award, the Mt. Hermon Pacesetter Award, the Lucille Gardner Poetry Scholarship, and the Sherwood E Wirt Award. She is a member of the Board of Directors for Media Associates International as well as the Board of Directors for Jerry’Jenkins’ Christian Writers Guild.
She and her husband currently live in Portland, Oregon and have been married for 30 years. They have two grown children.
