ChristianBook eBooks on the Sony Reader
To read a Christianbook.com licensed eBook on your Sony device, you will need to use Adobe Digital Editions.
Without using ADE, the Sony Reader will attempt to open eBooks with its own software, the Reader Library, and you may receive an error message.
To bypass the Sony Reader Library, return to the eBook portion of 'My Account' on our site, and click to download the eBook again.
When the Adobe Digital Editions installer comes up, click on 'Download Item.'
If you are downloading a DRM Protected eBook, you will be prompted to open or save the URLLINK.acsm. Click 'Save'.
Save the file to your Desktop for quick access later.
Right-click on the URLLINK file, then select 'Open With' and choose Adobe Digital Editions.
If Adobe Digital Editions is not in the list, click 'Choose Default Program' and then select Adobe Digital Editions from the list.
Your eBook will open and display in ADE.
Plug in your Sony Reader, which will now display its model number and not just as Sony Reader.
Now just click, drag and drop your eBook onto the Sony Reader icon.
You can now eject your Sony Reader, open up the Books library and your eBook is ready to read.

How We Got the Bible provides factual, accessible answers to questions like these. A classic guide for Bible students, it has sold more than 300,000 copies during its forty years in print. Now, in this new edition, each chapter has been revised and chapters have been added, including two on the Septuagint and the Latin Vulgate. This thorough revision will tempt fans of the previous edition and pave the way for a new generation of readers as well.

WalkerSalem, ILAge: 55-65Gender: maleQuality: 5Value: 5Where did the Bible come from? How has its text been preserved through the ages? And how has it come to be in translations that we can understand? How We Got the Bible is a factual account of how the Bible has been preserved and handed down to our generation, providing easily accessible answers to questions concerning the origin, preservation, and transmission of the Bible. It includes a profitable study of the numerous translations of the Bible to help one understand the heritage and origins of varying versions. There are review questions at the end of each of the eighteen chapters for either individual or group study.
Neil R. Lightfoot, who has a Ph.D. from Duke University is Frank Pack Distinguished Professor of New Testament at Abilene Christian University in Abilene, TX. This book is written not for the scholar but for the average reader who wants to understand more about how the Bible came to us; yet, it is no less accurate than an academic tome. It has sold more than one million copies during its forty years in print. There are a couple of weaknesses in my estimation. Lightfoot appears to give the same kind of slavish devotion to the modern Wescott-Hort text that he accuses those who promote the older Textus Receptus and the King James Bible of having to that text. And he lavishes great praise on the Revised Standard Version and its descendant, the New Revised Standard Version, but gives very short shrift to the New American Standard and New King James Versions. However, the book is filled with useful information that deserves to be considered.
