Jtay5 Stars Out Of 5How to Study the Bible- Great Tool!!November 1, 2014JtayQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5This is an excellent study tool for studying the bible. I bought my first book, and then gave it to a lady sitting next to me on a flight. I had to buy another to have for myself. I am now buying additional copies for a bible study group that I lead. It is a small book, but packed with some great nuggets.

TerryrCumming, GAAge: 45-54Gender: male5 Stars Out Of 5This author gets it!August 22, 2014TerryrCumming, GAAge: 45-54Gender: maleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5Most books on Bible study overly focus on methodology, and this book includes that; but without proper spiritual preparation methodology alone won't lead to increased spiritual understanding. The first chapter in this book is on preparing your heart. Mr. West knows the topic and his writting is easy to read and understand. This is a book for any believer who's Bible study isn't what they believe it could and should be.

Tell us a little about yourself. I was saved as a teenager but did not grow in the faith due to worldliness. At 20 years old Christ moved in my life in a powerful way which resulted in a marriage to my teenage sweetheart now of 34 years, 3 married daughters, and 3 grandchildren. I have been employed in secular work all of those years while actively serving Christ in the local church and in community outreach, musically and through an expository teaching ministry.
What was your motivation behind this project? Since we live in a world that seems to be moving away from the Bible my burden for this generation and the next to give God's word it's proper place in their lives through personal Bible study. This is what God used to change my life and my prayer is that God might use this book to encourage believers to grow in grace and in knowledge of our Lord.
What do you hope folks will gain from this project? My hope is that people will see that personal Bible study is not optional but essential in the Christian life being the will of God. People will find encouragement and direction for effective study habits.
Who are your influences, sources of inspiration or favorite authors / artists? My personal and direct influences in my earlier years were primarily Pastors Bill Hixson of Athens Bible Church in Ohio and Ralph Smith, missionary to Tokyo, Japan. Indirect influences by Christian authors include John MacArthur, William Hendriksen, Warren Wiersbe, Lehman Strauss, and Matthew Henry, to name a few.
Anything else you'd like readers / listeners to know: I am available to speak in churches on the subject of personal Bible Study and other Biblical topics.
