KristinUSAAge: 18-24Gender: female4 Stars Out Of 5Sweet modern day fairytale.February 26, 2015KristinUSAAge: 18-24Gender: femaleQuality: 4Value: 4Meets Expectations: 4Since I had previously read and enjoyed the first two books in this series, I was pretty confident that I would like the third and final installment, How to Catch a Prince. Rachel Hauck didn't let me down!
If you've read the first two books, then you'll have an idea of what to expect with this one. Prince Stephen, the main character, is the brother of Nathaniel (from the first book), so characters from the previous books show up and previous events are referenced. The major difference in this story, though, is that it isn't a typical meet-and-fall-in-love romance...Stephen and Corina are already married. They had married several years before in secret, but after Stephen came home from his deployment hiding something, they went separate ways.
I found Corina to be a very likable character, and I thought her reactions and feelings were very realistic. I like that she demanded answers for what had happened between her and Stephen. I liked Stephen, too, but I sometimes got frustrated with him for not getting the truth out into the open. Characters are always getting themselves into predicaments because they think they know how another person is going to react or feel, and they're usually mistaken!
This book was slightly darker than the other two, dealing with issues like grief and war. Of course there are plenty of swoony fairytale moments, but the deeper issues are equally prominent.
One of my favorite things about this series is how Rachel Hauck manages to take very unlikely circumstances and make them feel realistic. Even though the kingdoms of Brighton and Hessenberg are imaginary, she writes them in such a way that they feel real. I especially like the way that she describes Cathedral City and I could picture it so clearly in my head.
I do have to admit that in some ways this book veered a little too far towards the unrealistic side of the spectrum. Several things happened that are implied to be divine intervention, and they were just a little over the top for me. Particularly the whole Manor thing with Brill and Adelaide. I'm not saying that miracles can't happen because obviously I believe they can. However, because of just how realistic the first two books were, these things felt out of place and awkward to me. That's my main qualm with the book...I would have appreciated it if things were a bit more subtle.
Overall, I really enjoyed How to Catch a Prince. It's probably my least favorite of the series (the second book was my favorite), but it was still a solid 4 star book for me and a nice conclusion to the series! I recommend this series for anyone who likes clean romances and who happens to have a fondness for modern day royal fairytales. :) I've said it before, but if you like The Princess Diaries films, you'll enjoy this series!

ChooseWiselyFredericksburg, VAAge: 25-34Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5Enchanted meets Touched by an AngelFebruary 26, 2015ChooseWiselyFredericksburg, VAAge: 25-34Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5How to Catch a Prince by Rachel Hauck is a lovely modern-day fairy tale for those of us who need something more than a Disney Princess to satisfy our need for a good love story. While this book is third in Hauck's The Royal Wedding Series, it easily stands alone. For me, this title was definitely a page-turner I would love to see made into a movie. It is laced was some serious heart issues, but is not so heavy that you miss the whimsy of a good princess story.
This book is a good mix of reality and imagination. Think of the movie Enchanted staring Amy Adams (without all of the singing and animation) meets Touched by an Angel. There are moments of divine intervention, angels sent to help out two people who were meant to love and serve together. I thought it was fabulous. Author Rachel Hauck has done a marvelous job writing this series. FIVE STARS from this book blogger!!!
I would add a PG rating to this book. It is clean and totally appropriate for a teenage girl. Having said that, I never thought it lacked the meatiness for an adult read. I am simply saying this would be a great title to read along with your daughter! A fairy tale with values is always a wonderful thing!
I was given a complimentary copy of this book by its publisher and BookLookBloggers in exchange for an honest review. I have not been compensated and all opinions are my own.
JaquelynAge: 25-34Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5Get this book and get it now! :)February 25, 2015JaquelynAge: 25-34Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5If you have read any of Rachel Haucks Royal Wedding Series, then you know how good they are! She is so great at writing about love overcoming boundaries. How to Catch a Prince was different than the other stories because the main characters already knew each other and had a history. Hauck did an excellent job helping us learn about their past, while still living in their present. I love how certain things, such as the sound of bells, remind them of special moments in the past. I know I have certain things that remind me of my childhood. It was impossible for me to put this book down! Life kept wanting to get in the way, but I would find a way right back to my chair and this amazing love story.
From a seires of unfortunate events Corina Del Rey and Prince Stephen of Brighton were torn apart for reasons Corina couldnt begin to understand. It didnt help that Steven just shut her out and left her in the dark. Corina is an amazing girl who loves with her whole heart. I would really like to be her friend, not because she is an heiress, but because she is so likable. Prince Stephen is a great man, who carries a lot of guilt. Can Corina draw him out of it to see the truth? Or will he be so stuck in his ways that he will lose the love of his life forever?
I couldnt stop reading, I was dying to know what was going to happen next. This book made me laugh and brought tears to my eyes. Hauck has an amazing way of putting feelings on paper! I would recommend this book to everyone! You dont have to be one of the Royal super fans to love this story! If you havent read the others in the series make sure you get those too!! You dont have to read them to love this story, but they are so much fun! They are also great stories that made you laugh and were impossible to put down. You will be swept away to another place and will love every minute of it! I am extremely blessed to be a part of Rachel Hauck's Street Team and received a copy of this book for my honest review. All opinions expressed are my own.
Rebecca ManeyGastonia, North CarolinaAge: 55-65Gender: female4 Stars Out Of 5Remarkable and Hopelessly Romantic!February 25, 2015Rebecca ManeyGastonia, North CarolinaAge: 55-65Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5American heiress Corina Del Rey and Prince Stephen Stratton of Brighton live on two different continents, but their hearts have been woven together for all eternity by four short weeks from their past. Both have experienced personal tragedy of immeasurable depth, which has taken years to overcome. When Stephen re-appears in Corina's life, she is faced with a tortuous decision that will forever change the course of her life; but rather than react, she stuns the prince by responding to his request with an important question of her own.
Will Corina be able to follow the still, small voice of the Spirit and "love well"? Will Stephen be able to lay his guilt at the foot of the Cross and find the peace that his heart so desperately craves? In spite of its "happily-ever-after", "once-upon-a-time" fantastical aura, "How to Catch a Prince" embodies a heavyweight mantra that cannot be ignored, rejected or disputed. It's a truly remarkable and hopelessly romantic story!
Britt98Grand Prairie, TXAge: 35-44Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5Wonderfully Romantic!February 24, 2015Britt98Grand Prairie, TXAge: 35-44Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5Princess stories, stories where the hero or heroine feels unworthy, and stories involving couples with a complicated past are just a few of my favorite topics in books. And my, oh my...How to Catch a Prince has all of this, and more!
The two main characters, Corina Del Rey and Prince Stephen of Brighton, just captured my heart right from the beginning. Corina is definitely a strong woman. She is someone who has had it all and lost nearly as much. She is still a very wealthy heiress, but part of her heart has never recovered from tragic events in her past. We get to know Corina both in the present, and in various small flashbacks throughout the story. These are some of my favorite portions of the book, as we see who Corina was during one of the most special times of her life...when she first knew Prince Stephen.
Speaking of Prince Stephen...I am so happy that he has his own story now and that it is such a great one! Since reading Once Upon a Prince, I have wanted to know his background. He is a deep and complicated character who is shouldering some huge burdens. This is a man who has loved large, given his all, and feels weighted down with unworthiness and guilt. Although I did not agree with every decision he made, I could understand where he was coming from and it made for such a great story.
How to Catch a Prince has many fun and lighthearted moments, as well as a deep storyline, and a beautiful earthly reconciliation and heavenly redemption theme. I loved it from start to finish and it goes into my "re-read" category for sure!
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher, through Litfuse Publicity, in exchange for an honest review.
