Dr. Campbell explains well the disconnect between the love in parents' hearts and the perceptions of children.

I first bought and read this book when I was 18 or 19, and no where near becoming a parent. God used it to help me grieve and heal things from my childhood.

I ran into this book again when I took a parenting class in hopes of becoming a better aunt. The book is not written to be a text for a class, but it has the right content and the instructor used it well.

Now that I am finally a mom, I know that I want to review it and refer to it often. I am convinced that with God's help and Dr. Campbell's guidance my child will know how completely he is loved.

This has been my "go to" recommended book for new parents (and parents of young children) since our first child was born over 30 years ago. His straighforward guidance and method of learning how to connect with your child early on, is effective and will save parents years of trying to figure out how to guide especially the seemingly noncompliant child...

There are simple things parents can do that, if adopted, will transform their home. Chapter 3 alone is worth the cost of the book. Buy, share it, give it.
