Each day shifts between Bible, shapes, phonics, math, language arts, crafts, and even homework, bringing a wealth of new and exciting information that will engage young minds. Colorful pages will hold children's interest as they work the large-print problems; the exercises will stretch thinking skills as they complete both creative assignments and factual problems.
Through biblically-based lessons, preschoolers will be introduced to social studies, language arts, math, phonics, science, health and safety, arts and crafts, music, and physical education. The hands-on activities are perfect for little bodies, while concepts are reinforced through games, songs, poems, and drama to prepare your preschooler for kindergarten-type games. 180 lessons.

suzyQ1780WisconsinAge: 25-34Gender: female4 Stars Out Of 5Very GoodApril 1, 2014suzyQ1780WisconsinAge: 25-34Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 4My overall opinion of this curriculum is very good. My daughter loved all the activities in the workbooks. The colors are wonderful and engaging. The spiral method of teaching is good and no so good. Good in the sense that it reinforces what they learned in previous lessons, but not so good in, by the second book I felt like it was really redundant. The teacher books are a must with this curriculum! Without them I would have floundered with how to integrate the worksheets. We only did preschool three days a week and they have a great reasource in the teacher books on how to do it.
Overall my daughter enjoyed this curriculum. I am only ordering book one this time for my son and if he needs or wants to continue into book 2 i will buy it later.
C PennyALT, GAAge: 18-24Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5Looking forward to School! :)October 29, 2012C PennyALT, GAAge: 18-24Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5This kit was wonderful! The only down side, is the resource back is just a bunch of loose sheets once you open it, so I spent a good part of my afternoon sorting all the different sections in to folders so it would be easier to find later. Other than that the quality is amazing! The Teacher guides have so many neat tips and tricks for first time home schoolers! And everything is very colorful and kid friendly. I am, and would recommend to others who purchase this, to get the resource pack laminated. Other than that, open it and prepare your little ones for a learning adventure! :)
JessyOmaha, NEAge: 25-34Gender: female4 Stars Out Of 5My son is having fun learning.August 21, 2012JessyOmaha, NEAge: 25-34Gender: femaleQuality: 4Value: 4Meets Expectations: 4For several reasons I chose to take my son through preschool at home. A friend suggested that I look into the Alpha and Omega curriculum. After using the Horizons Preschool curriculum for the last several weeks, I realize it does not have to to be an overwhelming project to provide a good education for my family. I absolutely love working with my son on a regular basis. He is having a great time learning.
cpittmantexasAge: 25-34Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5August 19, 2011cpittmantexasAge: 25-34Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5My 4 year old loves it, and is learning quickly with this program. He enjoys doing the work, can't wait to see all the progress at the end of the year. I know this program challenges the kids more than our local school does, and they are very strict on education. I am glad he is learning and having fun, and not being board in school.
DSchott5 Stars Out Of 5This product is well tailored to my daughters needJune 28, 2011DSchottQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5This product has cute graphics that appeal to my pre- schooler. As well as having a high expectation for learning. I liked that the bible lesson is encompassed in all the subjects and everything flows together instead of another introduction into a new subject. Teacher manuals are well thought out and are a great deal of help with planning. I would reccomend this product to anyone who wants to homeschool for pre-K!
Q: Do you need to purchase the multimedia package? I see in the excerpt that it says you need certain DVDs, CD-Roms etc. Is it necessary to purchase the multimedia package to use this program? Thanks.
The teacher's guides include instructions for use of the multimedia resources, but the curriculum can easily be completed without them.
Q: How much is Jesus and the stories in the gospels studied?
Jesus and principles from the gospels are taught about quite frequently throughout this curriculum.
Q: Is this curriculum appropriate for three year olds?
This curriculum does require some writing skills, so it would depend on the development level of the 3 year-old.
Q: Is this package for a FULL year of Kindergarten? Is this package all I will need to teach my daughter for the full year of Kindergarten or is it just part of it? Does anything else need to be purchased along with this item?
This package is for a full year of Preschool.
