The first issue is my daughter picked the book up as soon as we got it and the cover ripped completely off. She is not typically hard on books, but this book seemed to not be bound very well (two staples hold it together).
The second issue is the workbook doesn't specifically represent what is being taught. The first page of the workbook is brought on in lesson 7. It seemed more of a coloring book than anything. The pictures do not help the child master or exercise the lessons that are being taught.
The teachers guide more or less "suggests" that you should introduce concepts rather than giving you a solid plan for teaching them. "lesson 1" reads like this "Introduce the topic of each individual's uniqueness" Then goes on to suggest playing music, poems, and books that are from separate books that you will need to buy or rent. There are so many that unless you have an extensive library close by, this could get pricey quickly. (However this guide is better bound than the workbook)
Basically this set seems to be more of a suggestion of topics, that you should consider teaching your child, rather than a solid curriculum that offers detailed lessons and suggested methods of how and in what manner to teach these topics. I really wish I knew this before I wasted my money.
MB4 Stars Out Of 5September 24, 2010MBMy 4 year old loves this book. It covers important social and health topics. Books can be added from the library for each lesson. Great resource, good lessons, and fun activities. Prep time for each lesson has been minimal.
