Therefore it's not very good for homeschooling when you have only one child in that grade.
JennTNAge: 25-34Gender: female3 Stars Out Of 5Could be betterJune 6, 2012JennTNAge: 25-34Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 2Meets Expectations: 3Horizon Health for first grade had some good things in it, but was extremely confusing in a lot of areas. Some parts of the book we skipped over because, even with the teacher's manual, it was not explained well enough for the student or teacher to understand what to do. We liked this book in some areas, but it could be improved. Since it is only a first grade book, and they enjoy the things in there that were useful, I would recommend this to friends but would tell them the downside as well.
Jen DNew Albany, INAge: 25-34Gender: female1 Stars Out Of 5Too muchAugust 30, 2011Jen DNew Albany, INAge: 25-34Gender: femaleMeets Expectations: 1As the homeschooling mom of 4 children, I bought this for my youngest child's health class. While I'm sure an excellent product if you have the time, it was WAY too much work for me, especially for just being 1st grade. I'm sending it back, and will be much more cautious in the future. It would have been nice to have that information before I bought it.
kezguinanCannon AFB, NMAge: 35-44Gender: female4 Stars Out Of 5Great set to introduce health to your family.January 31, 2011kezguinanCannon AFB, NMAge: 35-44Gender: femaleQuality: 4Value: 4Meets Expectations: 4This is a wonderful set and we have all gotten a lot out of it. It covers a lot of topics which include physical and mental health. We are only part way into it and the one frustration that I have is that a lot of thir additional lesson resources-i.e. books that support the subject matter-were copyrighted a while ago. Many are from the 1970's & 1980's. I don't have a problem with that, per se, but it is just tough to find them in the local libraries. We don't always do all of the related activities, since we are just a family and this can be geared towards a family or a classrom environment.
Overall, a great product to indtroduce many concepts that should be talked about.
Choi Chin Chow1 Stars Out Of 5March 20, 2010Choi Chin ChowNot user friendly if without the teaching manual. Even if you have it, the content is extremely boring and the exercise is equally boring too. I'm regret to buy both grade 1 & 2.
