Tell us a little about yourself. I have worked in the addiction recovery field and taught behavior modification classes for many large corporations. I teach Bible study and Sunday school to middle school boys at Faith Mission, an inner city ministry and participate in prison ministry. I am married to George, have two adult daughters and four grandchildren. We live in Houston, Texas.
What was your motivation behind this project? We wanted to provide a book that looked at your prodigal's situation through God's eyes allowing you to respond with calm confidence. We wanted to diminish the fear, hopelessness and loneliness of dealing with a child who has left either physically or emotionally.
What do you hope folks will gain from this project? The Hope of a Homecoming gives insightful help and encourages parents to pray their prodigals home. It's a time filled with heartache, but there are ways to make it easier.
Who are your influences, sources of inspiration or favorite authors / artists? We were inspired to write this book by Psalm 90:16..."May your deeds be shown to your servants, your splendor to their children." We wanted to share our experience of praying for our prodigals. The Psalm became our plea to show His Splendor to our children. To turn them away from the splendor of the world and back to Him.
Anything else you'd like readers / listeners to know: You'll find empowering and professional advice on going deep beneath the surface to enlist and direct God's sovereign power toward the children of your heart.
